Cowboy Karma,
4 Stories from the
"Not So" Wild West
written by Hank Bruce
Not your typical “guns blazing”
tales of the old west.
Karma is the destiny we earn through our actions and behavior. When we behave kindly, we earn good karma. But, if our behavior is lacking in kindness and consideration, there will be different consequences. This karma we earn can be delivered in a variety of ways.
In the first story, Eating Crow, Everett wasn't a likeable man by any stretch of the imagination. He was lazy, quarrelsome, and completely ignorant of anything resembling the social graces. His karma was delivered on the wings of a crow.
Cowboy Karma is a story about misguided ambition and unearned recognition. All Hiram was trying to do was hold up a stage and get enough money to make a down payment on a ranch and win true romance. Karma visited him at the poker table.
In Hangin' Tree's Revenge a middle-age woman arrives in a small New Mexico town with a private agenda. She knows the history of the Hangin' Tree, and her karma comes from the very tree that has been waiting patiently for its revenge.
Murder on the La Luz Trail is a short story about life, love, mountains and karma. Sometimes, without knowing it, a mountain becomes our lover. Those who become friends of the mountains, are protected by them. Then again, sometimes karma can be just plain brutal.
This book, Cowboy Karma is a Kindle exclusive, and the price is only 99¢

Lady Coffee's Autobiography
How I Enlighten & Inspire Humanity
The Story of the Coffee-Human Connection
124 page 6 x 9 paperback retail price $10.00
ISBN 978-1490504711 Released August 10, 2013
Kindle edition now available for only $2.99 at http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00EPWZWWK
Written by Ms. Coffea Arabica (who prefers to be called Lady Coffee) with both great wisdom and a sharp wit. She explores the intimate relationship between Coffee & Humans. This is her story of the enlightenment and inspiration of humankind, from prehistoric poker games to go-carts on Mars.
She wrote this with the firm conviction that coffee drinkers around the world have a superior intellect and a well developed sense of humor, just like her.
“This is a tale of passion and compassion, trickery and lofty ideals, greed and generosity, lies and dreams, the hopes and fears of all life on earth. My history is the chronicle of a unique symbiotic relationship with a strange primate my ancestors thought had promise. The history of humanity is written in the clouds in your coffee. This is the story of a partnership that truly changed the world,” she writes.
Petals & Pages Press is pleased to announce the release of this unique autobiography, the first ever written by a plant. We are honored to bring the ideas, thoughts and words of Lady Coffee to the world. She writes with both great wisdom and a sharp wit about the history of coffee and the Coffee-Human Connection.
Lady Coffee is a beautiful, literate and sometimes sassy plant with a sense of humor and an attitude. She did not take lightly the challenge of writing a book as a coffee tree, but she felt it was time for the story to be told. “This is my story, the story of coffee. From our humble beginnings on the semi-barren hillsides of Ethiopia, my family and I have brought enlightenment to the dinner tables and desks of human philosophers, scientists, artists, poets, literary sages and a few scoundrels. We have nurtured the human intellect, fostered reason and caused human creativity to blossom and bear fruit in the farthest reaches of this planet, and now beyond.” the author says of this groundbreaking literary effort.

Enchanted by the Light was released for the Christmas season 2011 and Hank had a great series of signings, meeting some great folks and hearing a lot of holiday stories from readers. We have received emails and letters like the following. Thanks to all the wonderful readers who take the time to make comments and share their ideas.
From a delightful lady in Santa Fe:
Dear Hank!
Here are some comments to your delightful book "Enchanted by the Light". The
fifteen stories are each a masterpiece and I cannot say which are the best. They
all have the power to motivate the reader to look at his/her moral values,
encourage people to persevere, especially the third story "The Gift of the
Healing Earth" with little Trudie. "Betting on the Quilt" is also so profound...
Your way of composing is like "velvet", smooth, very descriptive and fluent with
great diplomacy. Once I started reading a story, I was hooked until the end; at
times even, wished it would go on. Reading one story a day makes the reader's
day! Last but not least, congratulations to your wife too for the stunning
picture on the cover.
I wish you already great success on your next book whose subject, stories for
seniors, will for sure attract the attention of millions.
To you and your family, I wish you the best, a good continuation of all your
endeavors, and excellent health.
AF, Santa Fe; thanks much.
